A whisky with a very pleasant aroma. However, the palate and finish are overly repetitive. The citrus notes alongside the salty ones add a pleasant freshness. Yet, it doesn’t offer a distinctly different, “wow” factor.

Talisker Skye is the Isle of Skye's oldest distillery's ode to its contrasting landscape. Since 2015, the whisky has been produced directly on the rough sea and matured in American refill and toasted oak casks, with a slightly larger proportion of toasted casks. This gives the single malt the maritime-smoky note to get the feeling of spending a day on the coast of the Isle of Skye.
Much softer on the nose than the T10, but it also loses that certain something. Stands between all stools for me. Surprisingly sharp on the finish. 61-70 - Okay, but not more than 1 dram

The Talisker "Skye" was a gift from a good Scottish friend and at the same time my introduction to the world of smoky whiskys. And in my opinion it is ideally suited for this purpose, as it offers an extremely complex experience for relatively little money. Anyone expecting the usual mild easy sipper from the affordable price range is in for a surprise. Aroma: Although I'm still at the beginning of my whisky journey and sometimes have a hard time filtering out aromas, there is still a certain variety to be discovered here. Behind the initially intense smoke, even with little practice, you can smell a spicy, somewhat citrusy sweetness, combined with the typical maritime note of an island whisky and a hint of caramel. Taste: For a beginner, the Skye makes good progress in terms of taste. Especially at the beginning, peppery spiciness and ashy smoke predominate, both of which give way to a sweetness that becomes more and more pleasant the longer you hold the sip in your mouth. Here I also think I taste clove or caramel again. Finish: Long to medium long, dry. In my opinion the weakest part of "Skye". Oak (bourbon barrel?) and malt stand out clearly. The 45.8 percent get a lot of attention. Conclusion: In terms of price-performance ratio, a single malt that I can recommend to beginners as well as more experienced smoke lovers. Unexpectedly balanced, round and harmonious. Unfortunately colored, which is particularly noticeable given the very artificial coloring here. Nevertheless - a good first step into Talisker's core range.

Honestly, a bottle I was gifted, but do not drink. I really don't like it and don't think I should spend time on it. There are so many other fantastic whisky to taste.
It has a very nice and smooth taste, excellent!
A very good sample of whisky, maybe I got a good batch from good barrels, I definitely do not have 2021, maybe 2018. A complex, full-bodied and not at all aggressive whisky. Fruit abundance and good balance with smoke. However, it is quite simple and does not evolve. N:21 T:21 F:21 B:21
#0416 TALISKER SKYE SINGLE MALT SCOTCH Whisky 45.8%. ... considering the whole thing and comparing SKYE to 10, 10 wins hands down. The aromas are very inviting, the first impression during consumption is also good. Later on, unfortunately, it gets a bit worse. It's not bad, but it could always be better. It should not be forget that this is NAS - at least three years old. I've had worse. As they say in certain circles - it's cool. Well, because it is. I have to admit that it's not outstanding and I personally didn't expect that. ... Just a "daily dramik" - for those who like bittersweet smokes. It reminds me of the basic Rock Island by Douglas Laing, except it's a blended malt (and these are blended to taste... mostly!)

Overall, a good whisky has a very subtle youthful undertone, but it's not bothersome. The nose is a bit weak, the aromas aren't overpowering, and the palate is relatively better. While not quite a Talisker 10, it still reflects the Talisker character in a softer way. It's an easy-drinking, pleasant whisky.

I really love that artificial banana notes, but downside is that is pretty simple and one-dimensional. Dram is okay but more gets boring. However this is better then before rebranding (at least as I remember)... Talisker is really becoming the most interesting Diageo distillery for me, only if special releases could be more affordable. FROM ME GREAT VALUE FOR MONEY!
