Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky 2007, 19 Years Old Refill Hogsheads 57.1% ABV Artwork by: WHISKYHOBO Nose: A beautiful peated spirit, gently aged for 18 years in refill wood – perfect! Charred Hazelnuts, dusty peated malt/grist, Burnt sage, rosemary, oily fishing ropes, tar and creels. Crushed seashells and heather smoke. Touches of fruits – quince and apple peel. Palate: Very powerful with sharp citrus, heather honey, stewed apples, minerality – salt and wet slate. Some smoked ham, anchovies and capers in brine. Malty, Salty and moreish. Finish: salty peanut brittle, the peat stays – and is powerful—quite earthy and robust – with lingering cigar smoke. Non-chill filtered and natural colour. This spirit may haze at low temperatures and under dilution.
