Glen Scotia Single Malt Scotch Whisky 2013, 12 Years Old Refill barrel / 206 bottles 56.7% ABV Artwork by: @KMGYEAH Nose: Lemon curd, wet pebbles, ozone, with a really fresh and precise minerality cut with salinity. Not too much Campbeltonian funk is present. Fresh wood, soil and barley grist. Guavas and underripe pineapple, warm sourdough and a fresh tin of shortbread. Palate: Orange marmalade, candlewax, guavas again, very alive in the mouth – akin to a little lick of a battery. Mulled apple juice, lemon preserve on a scone topped with cinnamon. Finish: Long and bright and electric and lemony and white peppery. Non-chill filtered and natural colour. This spirit may haze at low temperatures and under dilution.

Dealer information: The 2013 Glen Scotia Single Malt Scotch Whisky matured for 12 years in refill barrels and was bottled by Phil and Simon Thompson at cask strength, a robust 56.7% ABV – only 206 bottles were produced. Lemon cream, guava, and orange marmalade mingle with precise minerality and a delicate salinity, while the long, electrifying finish is characterized by lemon and white pepper. This is entirely in keeping with the Thompson brothers' style, who, with the Dornoch Distillery and their independent bottlings, are known for their uncompromising approach to whisky: natural color and non-chill filtration.
