Michter's 10 Year Old Rye 46.4% ABV A limited release sure to be in high demand, Michter’s 10 Year Old Rye is a classic expression from the historical distillery. Aged for at least a decade, this is a rare bottling filled to the brim with spicy warmth, richness and a remarkably luxurious mouthfeel. Tasting note: Nose: Aromatic with rich oak and intense rye spice, followed by bittersweet dark chocolate and a subtle menthol note. Palate: A classic rye – mouth-filling, rich and complex. Elegant oak comes through with shortbread, raisins and a gentle herbaceousness. Finish: Generous with more warming spice.

Cherry cordials, dill, roasted coconuts, a bit of black licorice, a bit of peppermint patties, and toasted oak. It also has a great chewy, cushy, mouth feel. This one has more rye notes than last years' bottle I had (which I also gave a 91), but still kept the cherry cordials that I really liked.

Smell: caramel, vanilla, chocolate, oak, ginger, cinnamon, lots of caramel. Taste: old wood, vanilla, caramel, honey, preserved fruit, high sweetness and just the right bitterness. Tail: sweet candied fruit, very sweet wood. Smell until you drink it, and your mouth is full of honey sweetness, not choking. The bitterness neutralizes the sweetness and is very comfortable. The flavor is too full and explodes, filling the entire mouth.
