Spirit of Scotland 46 Year Old House of Hazelwood 43.6% 70cl An exceptional 46-year-old blended Scotch here, crafted by aged whisky curator House of Hazelwood. The expression itself was first created in 1994 to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the first recorded reference to Scotch – found in the 1494 Exchequer Rolls of Scotland. Since it was first blended it has spent an additional 28 years in an American oak hogshead, resulting in an intricately layered, stunningly complex yet fully unified blend. There is nothing else like this exquisite whisky. Official tasting notes: Nose: On the nose there is the warming character of syrup, treacle, and baking aromas alongside antique notes of manuscript paper and old books. Palate: The palate brings a hint of smoke, bright flashes of lemon pie and a mouth-watering aspect with a long and wonderfully smooth finish.
