ONLINE EXCLUSIVE Our first experiment with a living, evolving whisky. Angus has brought together a curious mix of malt whiskies—some peated, some sherry-matured, all at least 10 years old and several considerably older—before marrying them in a refill sherry hogshead. This is Phase One of Ascent of Dram , limited to just 100 bottles. Once they’re gone, the cask will be topped up with something new, changing the whisky before the next 100 bottles are released as Phase Two. Each phase will capture a different moment in the life of the cask, never to be repeated.
