For the Winter 2025 Edition of Equinox & Solstice, we've selected a single first fill sherry hogshead of Speyside single malt we call 'Glenlitigious'. It was filled in 2013, matured for 12 years and bottled at this series' trademark sessionable strength of 48.5%. It's rich, darkly fruity, luscious and warming - a perfect sherried dram for Winter comfort.

First thing that comes to my mind is Kentucky Bourbon - it's so typically liquorice and charred oak with vanilla - hard to believe it's GF

Well, it doesn't really grab me; it smells strongly of vanilla, tastes a bit like bourbon, and the finish is quite long. Not exactly the three holy grails I look for in a whisky :)

This whisky is wonderful. Typical of dessert whiskies. Sweet, intensely fruity with a delicate touch of dark chocolate and leather notes. The alcohol is perfectly hidden, pleasantly warming, and caresses the palate.

A pleasant whisky where the cask doesn't exactly feel like what Glenfarclas uses, but after a bit of time and water it becomes more familiar.
