The Margaux cask is immediately apparent here. The nose greets you with stewed bramble fruits, a swirl of vanilla ice cream drizzled with raspberry coulis and a dusting of milk chocolate shavings. Beneath, a delicate thread of caramelised sugar and polished oak adds depth. On tasting, this dram is impressively balanced, bringing forward lush red berries complemented by a smooth, creamy sweetness. A splash of water brightens it, revealing fresh notes of crisp apples and pears.
