A combination of first-fill Bourbon casks and re-charred ex-Bourbon casks is responsible for taming the highly-peated nature of Octomore. Aged for five years, the palate leads with a fresher, more citrusy offering than one might expect, instantly transforming to tropical fruit and custard notes. Since the heat might be apparent for some, just add a drop of water to open up the more coastal notes this whisky has to offer. This is a true rendition of Islay.
