A rather tasty dram, that has all kinds of sweet influences, and feels very constructed. A decent whisky, but not much soul yet. I am sure it will get there. The wine influence adds a nice touch, almost to enhance the new make spirit feel of it, which is represented by tangerines. I was pleasantly surprised by this one.

This whisky really needs some drops of water, it just cuts off the hefty edge, adding more sweetness and drinkability. Pleasant and interesting dram.

After the stimulation of alcohol comes some condenser flavor, copper pipe and sulfur, sweet cream, grass. Creamy, lightly fruity, with a few candied grapes from Sherry and wine barrels, cinnamon cake, dirty (sulphur and wormtub, although according to sources Lindores does not use worm tube), strong and direct, spicy. Medium finish, sweet cream, spice, spicy and bitter. Strong direct CS whisky, relatively young, worm tube condenser feeling, very sweet, good.

Rich dark fruits, oily texture, Christmas cake , chocolate, nutty, herbs and spices. Subtle hint of sweetness from shrry cask and nice warming rum influence. A great dram for winter.
Monk It was inevitable that Lindores would release a whisky under the label of Friar John Cor, of course – the monk of Lindores Abbey who is said to have distilled the first whisky (or whatever it was then) in 1494. It was this Cask Strength Congregation Chapter I – at a wholesome 60.2% – of which the vatting was composed with young single malt from the three classic cask types at Lindores (bourbon, sherry, STR wine barrels) and Monbazillac. The latter is a sweet French wine from Bergerac (southern France) made from the Semillon grape. Fresh apple pie, pancake dough and citrus peels: that's the nose of this Friar John Cor in a nutshell. There is also a touch of wet grass, bay leaves and mint. Smells young, but interesting. Citrus comes first, immediately followed by a good dose of vanilla pudding, white pepper and even some crème brûlée. Almost creamy – that must be thanks to the wine casks. Midpalate I get some digestive cookies and again bay leaves. Slightly sharp but does not need water despite the high alcohol percentage. The finish is relatively long, peppery and a tad bitter. The spiciness tingles on the tongue until the very last moment. A nice twist on the classic Lindores releases, without really being a highflyer. But very expensive with its price tag of around 95 EUR.
can't enjoy this dram as I could nose Vegemite......Australian nightmare spread sauce (for me of course)

No, the bottles have already arrived in Switzerland! So everything is fine :-) Still young, but with a lot of potential!
Quite pleasant whisky with a strong aroma, irritating the nose, but also with a lot of fruit and chocolate. The finish is not too quickly fading, but the whisky is nice in taste with a delicate accent of peppery spices.
